Will:Perkinson: 1868: Trimble Co.: Submitted by: Joy Mack Email: cmuck@seidata.com Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Will Book 1, Pg. 169-171 Will of John Perkinson, 1860 I John Perkinson of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky being of Sound mind and disparing memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows hereby revoking all other or former wills by me made . Item 1st. It is my will and desire that all of my just debts and funeral Expenses be first paid. Item 2nd. It is my will and desire that my wife Mary J. Perkinson after my death have the house and Hand garden, Kitchen, & any or all of the annivery material. She may use property to Select for her own use and benefit, So long as She may live & two Beds & Bedding and half Dozen chairs, Table, cupboard, and cupboard ________, one cow and horse and saddle, one Buearu all of which property She may Select out of my personal property also one clock, I want the bottom field below the house and the two Bottom fields above the house running up to what is called the big spring to be rented out for the sole use and benefit of my said wife. Item 3rd. To my Daughter Elizabeth Hood wife of Allen Hood, I give seventy-seven acres of land being the house she now lives on and the same as marked off by Jeremiah Strother as will appear by Survey made 7th Dec. 1855 to her sole use and benefit so long as she may live and there to her children. Item 4th. To my Son Coleman H. Perkinson, I give seventy-seven acres of land the house on which he now lives as reference is also made to the said Survey of Strother for boundary. Item 5th. To my son William J. Perkinson, I give Seventy-six acres and one half of land the same laid off by Jeremiah Strother by Survey made 7th December 1855. Item 6th. To my Daughter Polly Ann Settles wife of Strother Settles, I give Eighty two and a half acres of land the same on which she and her husband now reside a reference is mad to said Survey for Boundaries. Item 7th. To my Son Silas E. Perkinson, I give one hundred and eighty six arces and three fourths of an arce one hundred and forty six of which is laid off by the foresaid survey on December 7th, 1855 and 40 3/4 acres being the same bought by my deceased son John of A. H. Talbertt, a reference is made to survey of January 14th, 1857 for the boundry of said 40 3/4 acres. It is my will that my son take posscession of all the land at my death except the part reserved for the use of my wife which he isnot to get until her death. The reason that I give Silus more land than the rest is my son John on his death Bed requested me to give Silas at my death the land he (John) had bought of Talbott also the land I intended to have given him. Item 8th. At my death, It is my will and desire that my four first named children towith Elizabeth Hood, Coleman H. Perkinson, William J. Perkinson, and Polly Ann Settles have of my personal property each Eighty Dollars in value and if their. There should be any remaining besides what is willed my wife th balance to be Equally divided among all my children and at death of my wife what personal property may be remaining of that willed her it is my desire that the balance be equally divided between all my children and in the division of my personal property among my children if they cannot agree among themselves as to the division it is my will that the Select same three disinterested persons to divide the same between them agreeable to my will. It is my desire that my three sons manage for and take care of my wife So long as She may live. A writing purposting to be the last will and testament of John Perkinson deceased was on this day produced in Court and proven by the oaths of J.G. Greenwood and William Samuel subscribing witnesses thereto and orders to be accorded as appears from an endorsment made thereon in the handwriting counting of my precucessor in these words (Proven June 11th 1860 ordered to be recorded) and left for Record so hereupon said will together with this certificate oaths been only.
