        George Anthony "Tony" Blanford, 24, of Ft. Seward, CA, formerly of  Union County, drowned 
Saturday in Garberville, CA.
         Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Blanford of West Point, Ky, formerly of Union County., 
five sisters, Mrs. Patsy Duke, Mrs. Cathy Lovio, Mrs. Flavia Morris, Misses Evelyn and Martha Blanford, all 
of West Point, a brother, Joe Blanford of West Point; a grandmother, Mrs. Ann Laura Blanford of 
Morganfield, nieces and nephews.
         Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Thursdsay, June 7, at ST. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 
Sturgis, with Father Clarence Hite in charge. Prayers will be held at 7pm, Wedesday at Whitsell Funeral 
Home, Sturgis. Burial will be in Hazel Bend Cemetery.
