Obits on page 2. ALVIS O'NEAL Alvis O'Neal, Marion, Ky, 84, died Tuesday, September 23 at Crittenden County Hospital. He retired from the Crittenden County School Systems, where he was a bus driver. He was a farmer and member of Baker Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; a daughter, Marjorie Yandell of Fredonia; four step daughters, Kay McWorthy of Sturgis, Donna Parker of McCalla, AL, Rena Coerver of St. Louis and Patty Wilkins of Central City; a son, Gerald of Newburgh; two step sons, Jimmy Lindsey of Fulton and Tommy Lindsey of Waverly; two step grandchildren, Chris and Cherly; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Services were at 2pm Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Baker Cemetery. RUTH M. PRICE Ruth M. Price, 80, Morganfield, died Tuesday at 12:!4am at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, IL. She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Price, in 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Collins of Morganfield; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be at 11 am Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Visitation will be from 2-9 pm today and 8am until service time Thursday. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Morganfield. JAMES HENDRICKS James Webb Hendricks, 23, died Saturday afternoon of injuries in an auto accident on Highway 109. He was a finishing carpenter. Surviving are his mother and step father, Sandy and Bud Spence of Clay; his father, Jim Hendricks of Chapel Hill, NC; two sisters, Stacey Lee Hendricks of Clay and Jenny Hendricks of Chapel Hill; and grandparents, Bill and Kitty Webb of Largo, FL., Bill and Nora Hendricks of Baraboo, WI; and Marilyn Spence of Leesville, LA. Services were at 2pm Tuesday at Vanover Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows. WILLIAM LEON WILLETT SR. William Leon Willett, 78, Uniontown, died Thursday at 9:30 pm at Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He is preceded in death by his wife Delores in 1992. Mr. Willett was a US Navy Veteran, he retired from Mesker Steel after 23 years and a lifetime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Merrick of Morganfield, Elaine Lewis and Kay Sheffer, both of Uniontown; one son, Jimmy Willett of Henderson, 12 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Services were at 2pm Sunday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown with Fr. Henry Willett officiating. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown. Contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown. MICHAEL ALLEN LONG Michael Allen Long, 53, Sturgis, died Thursday after an illness. Mr. Long was a member of Grangertown Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Shirley; and one daughter, Denise Jackson of Sturgis; mother in law and father in law, Louis and Helen Mosely of DeKoven. Services were at 2pm Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Don Collins and Rev. Dale Hanson officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. GLADYS ARDELL TABOR Glady Ardell Tabor , 88, of Marion, died on Monday at 8pm at Springlake Nursing Center in Salem. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons; Gerald Wayne Tabor of Morganfield, Joseph Clayton Tabor of Indianapolis, and Charles Everett Tabor of Crysta, MN. Twelve grandchildren and eightteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Tabor and daughter Charlotte Ann Tabor. Services were held at 1pm at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Mapel View Cemetery. STEPHEN WAYNE JONES Stephen Wayne Jones, 21, Providence, formerly of Morganfield, died Sunday at 6pm at the Union County Methodist Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Glenda Jone in 1994. Survivors include two sisters, Kimberly Knight of Corydon, and DeAnn Jones of Morganfield; two brothers, Anthony Jones and Curtis Jones of Corydon. Services will be at 3pm Wednesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Bro. Buddy Hicks officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. He retired after 25 years at Patton Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a Korean War Army Veternan, attended Faith Church of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Alice; four daughters, Nola Mayes and Tammie Huffman , both of Evansville, Rose Winneger of Florida, and Rita Freudenberg of Lynnville, IN; two stepdaughters, Sarah Mortis of Evansville and Kelly Jamieson of Woburn, MA; a son, Joseph II of Florida; there step sons, Allen Hatfield of Newburgh, Dennis Hatfield of Evansville, and Gary Hatfield of Elberfield, IN; a brother, Norman of Uniontown; 17 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services were at 1pm Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park, where Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club conducted Military Rites. JOHN NAVE John Nave, 40, of Corydon, formerly of Uniontown, died Saturday at 2pm at Deaconess Hospital in Evanville after an illness. Survivors include his mother and father, Mary Nave and Hershel R. GREGORY PADGETT Gregory Alan Padgett, 45, of Louisville, died around 5am Sunday, October 12 in Louisville. He was a retired Army Reserve Major and a Statistical Analyst with Anthem Blue Cross/Bue Shield. He is survived by two daughters, Holly Ellis and Mitzi Padgett and one grandson, all of Henderson.; his parents, Spurlin and Edd Marie Padgett of Morganfield; three brothers, Keith Padgett of Champaign, IL, and Jerry and Doug Padgett both of Morganfield; two sisters, Rosemarie Thomas of Morganfield, and Jeanne Cleveland of Henderson; and a grandmother, Marie Padgett of Morganfield. Funeral Services were on Wednesday, October 15, at 11:30 am at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield. Burial followed in the St. Ann Cemetery. MARCIA GREENWELL Marcia Greenwell, 79, Morganfield, died Thursday at 1:30am at her residence. She was a 27 year employee of Morganfield National Bank where she retired as assistant cashier. Survivors incude two sons, Mark Greenwell of Omaha, NE, and Martin Greenwell of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Maxine Royster of Waverly; a brother, John Royster of Waverly; and five grandchildren. Services were at 12pm Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church with burial in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice. TOM CONEY Tom Coney, 68, Morganfield, died Sunday at 12:10pm at the Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was a 13 year employee of the City of Morganfield, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church near Pride. Survivors include his wife Mary; two daughters, Doris Wilson and Deloris Rodriguez, both of Morganfield; two sons, Tommy Parrish and Joe Coney, both of Morganfield; four sisters, Dorothy Wolfe of Waverly, Sue Barre, Faye Montgomery and Rose Parrish, all of Henderson; three brothers, Charles Coney of Elberfield, IN, Bobby Coney of Waverly, and Harold Coney of Henderson; and nine granchildren. Services were at 2pm Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home with burial in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. MRS. MIOK K. COLLINS Mrs. Miok K. Collins, 45, Henshaw, died Monday at 4:26am at the Union County Methodist Hospital. Survivors include her husband Raymond; two daughters, Nita and Sabrina, both of Henshaw; a sister, Kim Mi-Ha of Korea; one niece and one nephew. Services will be at 2pm today at Whitsell Funeral Home with burial in Old Bethel Cemetery. BETTYE NASBITT YAW Bettye Nasbitt Yaw, of Albany, died Monday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital following an illness. A native of Sturgis, she lived in Albany since 1961. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served in Alter Guild. She volunteered for the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, the American Cancer Society, and the Amerian Heart Association. Survivors inlude her husband, Jack; two sons, David of Seattle, WA, and Greg of Gathersburg, MD; two daughters, Sylvia Yaw Bass of Greenville, NC, and Patricia Yaw of Atlanta; two sisters, Sue Miles of Louisville, KY and Faye Patteson of Memphis, TN; and one grandson. Services will be today at 2pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. DARNELL R. "RUSTY" GREEN Darnell R. "Rusty" Green, 37, Uniontown, died at 12:36am Saturday as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident. He was an employee of Sights Denim Systems in Henderson. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; two sons, Joshua Cain Green and Jason Craig Green, both of Uniontown; his mother, Wanda V. He was founder of Mattingly Pest Control Service. Surviving are his wife, Emily Kay; two daughters, Nancy Ann Druin and Jessica Lea Mattingly, both of Corydon; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Nicole Brandsasse of Corydon; two stepsons, Wlliam Joseph III and Kevin Nathan Brandsasse, both of Corydon; three sisters, Melinda Hust of Hendeson, Diane Sellars of Corydon, and Sandra Wolfe of Waverly; and two grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday at 3:30pm at Smith Cemetery near Dale, IL. JESSIE "JUNIOR" M. GRAY Jessie "Junior" M. Gray, 64, Henderson, died at 7:45 am Monday at his home. He was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Anna Bell Gray of Henderson, and one half sister, Jeslean Wright of Henderson. Services will be at 2pm today at Lawndale Baptist Church. The Rev. Orbley Ramsey will officiate. Burial. will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. "Poodle" Ames, 86, Dekoven, died Wednesday, October 22, at 10:55pm at the Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was a retired coal miner after 40 years in the mines. He was a member of Baptist Faith - World War II he served with Gen. George Patton in the 3rd Army. He was also awarded a bronze star. Survivors include a special friend, Ethel Babbs of DeKoven, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and he was a special Papa to Sandy and Holly Sigler. Services were at 2pm Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. George Yates and Rev. Dale Hanson officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. EVERETT MILLER Everett Miller, 77, Sullivan, died Sunday at 7:05am at Owensboro Mercy Health System in Owensboro. Mr. Miller was a member of the Sullivan Baptist Church, Odd Fellow Lodge 307, U.M.W.A. 1564, Ky. Colonial, a member of the American Legion, and he was the first member of the V.F.W. Post 5486 Sullivan. He was also the past Fire Chief of the Sullivan Volunteer Fire Department and a Boy Scout Leader. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Addie Lena; two daughters, Mary Kay Damin of Morganfield and Karen Sue Gray of Sturgis; and three grandchildren, Kim Johnson of Henderson, and Matt and Marle Gray, both of Sturgis. Services were at 2pm Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. Noble Cobb officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. JUSTINE ARNOLD Justine Arnold, 85, Sturgis, died Saturday at 9:20am at Union County Methodist Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Durwood and Dr. John, both of Sturgis, six grandchildren and seven great Grandchildren. Services were Monday at 2pm at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Rev. John Coble officiating. Burial was in Pride-Bordley Cemetery in Union County. PAM HANNAH Mrs. Pam Hannah, 30, Sturgis, died Sunday at 9pm at Regional Medical Center at Madisonville. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two sisters, Edie Godbehere and Phyllis McGlothin, both of Sturgis; one half sister, Bobbie Jean Brown of Sturgis; one brother, Jr. Collins of Mattoon, KY; one half brother, Donald Collins of Mattoon, nieces and nephews.
