Survived by three daughters, Vicki Gray, Debbie Buckhman & Sandy Odom, all of Morganfield; three sons, Rev. Kenneth Odom of Marion, Mike & Dennis of Morganfield; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services were Wed. Sept. 15, 1999 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with burial in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Morganfield. Born Dec. 7, 1927 in Henshaw, KY. TOMMY D. ROBERSON - 30, of Uniontown, died Thurs. Sept, 9, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Preceded in death by his mother Clara Roberson in 1998 and sister Jennifer Rhodes in 1998. Survived by his wife, Jenny of Marion; two sons, Lucas Johnson & Logan Roberson, both of Marion; one brother, Jim Roberson of Des Moines, IA; four sisters, Jane Brown, Judy Hagan, and Billy Roberson, all of Owensboro., and Rita Roberson of Bowling Green, KY; four half sisters, Regina Mosey of Henderson, Rachel Motoers of Ontario, Candada., Frances (Boo) Roberson & Betty Lynn both of Uniontown. Services were held Sat. Sept. 11, 1999 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with burial in City Cemetery in Uniontown, KY. CALEP SHAYNE HAZEL - infant of Sturgis, died on Tues. Sept. 7, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Survived by his parents, Shannon & Will Hazel of Sturgis; grandparents Junior & Delma King of Uniontown; Junior & Sheryl Hazel of Sturgis; great grandparents, George & Elizabeth Belt of Sturgis, Lorine Hazel of St. Charles, KY., Henry & Bonnie Hina of Sturgis, and Gene & Peggy King of Uniontown; great great grandmother, Pauline McGan of Morganfield; great great grandfather, Roy Terry of St. Charles, Ky. aunts and uncles. Graveside services were held at Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. JOHN KIBBY - 80 of Kevil, KY, formerly of Evansville, died on Thurs. Sept. 9, 1999 at the Medco Center in Paducah, KY. Survived by his wife of 58 years Josie (Lera) (Ghormley); one son, Benny of Wickliffe, KY; one brother, Carroll Martin of Morganfield; two grandchildren, Lana Powers and Brandon Kibby; and two great grandchildren. Services were held Mon. Sept. 13, 1999 at the Pierre Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Kibby worked as a truck driver for Eastern Express for 35 years before retiring. He was a WWII Army Veteran. A member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, Owls and the Riverband Association. Sept. 21, 1999 at his residence after a battle with cancer. Survived by his wife Mary Diane Travis; his parents, Harvey & Mary Travis of Morganfield; three daughters, Courtney, Robin & Amy Travis all of Morganfield; two sisters, Cynda Reynolds of Madisonville, Jennifer Travis of Morganfield; one brother, Danny Travis of Morganfield;grandparents, Orene Travis of Sturgis; Bernard & Lucille Russelburg of Henshaw, KY. Funeral Services were held Thurs. Sept. 23, 1999 at St. Francis Church in Sturgis, with burial in St. Ambrose Cemetery in Union County, KY. REV. GAYLN M. ALLEN - 50 of Westlake, LA, formerly of Sturgis, died Fri. Sept. 17, 1999 at the hospital in Lake Charles, LA due to heart problems. Survived by his wife, Martha Dian; two sons, Richard Allen & Andrew Allen, both of Westlake, LA; his mother, Lemma L. Lovelace of Henderson; one brother, Lanny Allen of Providence; one half sister, Marilyn Benson of Henderson. Graveside services were held on Wed. Sept. 22, 1999 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. He was a graudate of Union County High School in Sturgis, received his Bachelor's Degree in Bible Theology from the International Bible Insititute and Seminary. He was an Evangelist for 9 1/2 years before becoming pastor of the Fountain of Life United Pentecostal Church in Natchitoches, LA. He was the pastor of the First United Pentecostal Church in Westlake at his death and had been since 1985. He was a member of PPG Citizens Awareness Program and a member of the "A" Team (Ministries to Africa). He was a certified pilot. MARGARET ANN ROBERTS ZYCHOWSKI - 75 of Warren, MI, formerly of Waverly, died on Sun. Sept. 19, 1999 at St. John Hospital in Warren. Survived by her husband, Enick Zychowski; three daughters, Mary Ann Frangis of Elizabeth, CO, Susan Maxwell & Jane Benenatti, both of Warren; one son, Michael Zychowski of Warren; one sister, Jane Hoffman of Henderson; two brothers, Raymond Roberts & Joseph B. Roberts, both of Henderson; four grandchildren. Services were held on Tues. Sept. 21, 1999 at St. Malachy Church with entombment in Resurrection Cemetery in Warren. Sept 26, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Union County due to a heart condition. Survived by his parents, Susan & Bob Brantley of Morganfield; one son, Kyle Franklin Brantley II of Morganfield; two sisters, Amanda Collins and Jennifer Smith, both of Morganfield; grandparents Sarah Pearcy & Jerry Hill of Mayfield, KY and the late Mr. & Mrs. James Brantley of Sullivan, Ky. Services were held Tues. Sept. 28, 1999 at the St. Ann Parish hall in Morganfield with burial in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. Kyle was a senior at the Union County High School. LULA MAY STONE - 89 of Henderson died Sat. Sept. 25, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Preceded in death by two daughters Nancy Lou Stone in 1949 and Linda Kay Butts in 1971. Survived by her husband of 71 years, Clyde A. Stone; four daughters, Betty Todd and Melba Lois Gray, both of Henderson, Gloria Hibbetts of Springfield, MO., and Ethel M. Parker of Sterling Heights, MI; four sons, James Stone and Jerry Stone both of Henderson, Morris Stone of Sturgis and George Stone of East Hartford, CT; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services were held on Tues. Sept. 28, 199 at the Tapp Funeral Home with burial in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. ELEANOR WHEATLEY - 86 of Morganfield died Sat. Sept. 25, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Union County due to an auto accident. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Malcolm Wheatley Sr; one daughters Janice Alley of Henderson; one son, Malcolm Jr of Waverly; five grandchildren; eights great grandchildren. Services were held Tues. Sept. 28, 1999 at the St. Peter's Church in Waverly with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery in Waverly. Mrs. Wheatley was a homemaker in Waverly and a life long member of St. Peter's Church in Waverly. BENNETT BETTERTON - 65 of Morganfield died on Fri. Sept 24, 1999 at the Methodist Hospital in Union County. Preceded in death by his father Ocia Betterton; mother Nellie (Payne) Betteron; one brother and one sister; Survived by his wife Jackie; two daugthers, Kim Wright and Jorgina French both of organfield; five grandchildren Robin Staples, Megan and Erin French, Brandon and Raiana Wright; four sisters, Olivia Rash and Dora Brooks, both of Chatham, VA., Melissa Haben of Tavares, FL., and Sarah McEntire of Marion, OH; three brothers, William Betteron of Portsmouth, VA., James Betterton and O. C. Betterton of Chatham, VA; Services were held Mon. Sept. 27, 1999 at the Trinity Assembly of God in Morganfield with burial in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God, veteran of US Army, served in and received medical discharge from the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Betterton was born July 26, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, VA. He is the son in law of Iva Fowler. MARY ELLEN POWELL - 88 of Henderson died Wed. Sept. 22, 1999 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Preceded in death by her husband Marshall Powell in 1964, a daughter Margaret Blanford in 1998; Survived by two daughtes, Joyce Caton of Corydon and Christine McGill of Louisville; one son, Jimmie Powell of Little Dixie; one sister, Margaret Littlepage of Henderson; two brothers, Iloff Abell of Morganfield and Chester Abell of Henderson; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services were Sat. Sept. 25, 1999 at the Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home with burial in Corydon Cemetery. Mrs. Powell was a member of Union Hill General Baptist Church in Little Dixie.
