Author: Past and Present of Woodford County, IL,
Cassell, Wm. J., broker and money loaner; born in Sangamon Co., IL, Feb.
20, 1835; he is the son of Robert T. Cassell, who came from Kentucky to
Morgan Co., IL, when but a boy, and who settled in Woodford Co., when Wm.
J. was but 5 years of age. Mr. Cassell's father was a lawyer and upon
arriving at his majority he entered upon his present business of a broker.
He married Miss. Henrietta A. Hirsch, of Metamora, on May 10, 1864, who was
born in New Hampshire in Aug. 1842. They have 2 children - Robert T. and
Lutie May.
