RIDGWAY was born on the farm where he now lives January 28, 1838, one of eight children born to Benjamin and Catharine (Trunnel) Ridgway, who came from Kentucky in an early day, and lived in Sullivan County till their deaths. Our subject was raised to farming, and has followed that all his life. October 26, 1862, he married Vandillia A. Sinclair, born January 27, 1840,daughter of John and Maria (Crawford) Sinclair, and three children have been born to them--Ara B., July 28, 1864; George A., October 20, 1868; Charles H., August 17, 1870. Mr. Ridgway ownes 220 acres of fine land, and has been quite successful in farming. He and wife and daughter are members of the Christian Church at Shaker Prairie, near where they live, and he is a Democrat.
