Pruit. While going through his pension papers of his widow Rebecca Unknown maiden name, I came across a notarized statement from George W. Bowles. Rebecca's first husband Cole Campbell died in 1864 in Kentucky. He accidentally shot himself while trying to mount his horse. Also appearing as witnesses that Rebecca was married to William are Lewis Campbell and Richard Campbell. William and Rebecca were in Newton County, Arkansas. Just thought every tidbit might help.
