Hon. Francis Johnson, Lawyer, was a native of Caroline County, Virginia. He was 
a Representative in Congress from 1821 to 1827, and was an active and valuable 
member of that body. In 1812, 1813, and 1815, he had represented Warren County 
in the State Legislature. He was a war partisan of Henry Clay, and was 
prominent in his opposition to Gen. Jackson, in 1824. He occupied an eminent 
position in his profession.
