Billingsley to Joseph Hinton Aug. 11, 1853 Ack., Aug. 17, 1853 Recorded in deed book ?, page 602 This indenture made and entered into the eleventh day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty three between J M Billingsley and Ally M, his wife of the county of Warren & State of Kentucky and Joseph Hinton of county and State afore said of the other part. Witnesseth that this sd Billingsley for & in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged both bargained, sold, and delivered unto the sd Hinton a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Warren & State of Ky west of the Middle fork of Drakes creek & bounded as followeth (viz) Beginning on a cedar stake or post & rock 1st corner of lot No 1 in the division of lands in the estate of John Billingsley deceased, running S. 55 E. 76 poles to sd branch to a stake there with the meanderings of sd Branch N 55 1/2 E. 17 poles to a water oak & black walnut - thence S. 79 1/2 E. 12 poles to the center of the spring which sd Billingsley & Hinton is now using water from to have half & half only of the advantages of sd Spring - N 59 E. 17 poles to a chinquapin oak - thence N 80 E. 21 poles to a sycamore thence S 89 E. 21 poles to a stake in the original line at or near the mouth of sd Branch - thence N 45 E. 59 1/2 poles crossing the creek to a stake - thence west 15 poles crossing the creek to two ash trees - thence N 51 E. 30 poles crossing the creek to a large beach - thence N 17 W. down with the meanders of sd creek 134 poles to a stake at the mouth of a spring branch on the west side of sd creek - thence N 21 E. 23 poles to a stake in the creek thence, on a conditional line between sd Hinton and his brother Willis Hinton N 49 W. 30 poles to a stake on the original line thence South 68 poles to a red oak near a cave spring - thence West 130 poles to three Spanish oaks - thence N 21 W. 183 poles to a hickory and white oak - thence S 69 W. 76 poles to a black jack & post oak thence S 21 E. 108 poles to a black jack & post oak thence S. 41 W 60 poles to a stake thence S 50 E (I think though it may be S 30 E.)* 219 poles to the beginning. And the sd J M Billingsley together with his wife Ally M, doth herby sell convey & deliver the above mentioned premises together with the appertainances thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining & will forever warrant & defend the right & title unto sd Joseph Hinton, his heirs & assigns against any claim or claiming of any person or persons whatsoever unto which they do bind themselves their heirs executors & administrators forever.
