Taylor, late Hendrick to William Arnold - 1/10th interest in real estate under estates of Willis and Elizabeth Arnold. Joseph H signs by his attorney in fact, James W: "This Indenture of bargain and sale made and entered into this the 21st day of April 1863 between Joseph H. Hendrick of the County of Edmondson and State of Kentucky by James W. Hendrick his attorney in fact and James W. Hendrick of the County of Warren and State aforesaid for himself for the one part and William Arnold of the County of Warren and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnefseth that the said Joseph H. Hendrick by his attorney aforesaid and James W. Hendrick for himself for and in consideration of the the sum of one hundred dollars in hand the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed unto the said William Arnold one tenth of an undivided interest in two tracts of land due to Elizabeth Arnold and children by Little Busy Savage lying in the County of Warren and State of Kentucky on the north side of Big Barren River said tracts of land contain about two hundred and Eighty four acres. The one tenth part of said land being the same described to Mary E. Taylor late Hendrick & James W. Hendrick Grand Children of Elizabeth Arnold decd. Said Mary E. Taylor having conveyed her interest in same to Joseph H. Hendrick to have and to hold the same to the said William Arnold his heirs and afsigns forever free from the claims of the said Joseph H. Hendrick and James W. Hendrick [interlined here - by this said attorney James W. Hendrick and James W. Hendrick for himself] their heirs and afsigns forever. The said Joseph H Hendrick for himself ovenants [interlined here - by his said attorney James W. Hendrick and] and agree with the said Arnold that they are seized in fee simple to the title to said undivided interest in said land that the they will forever warrant and defend the title to said land to the said Arnold his heirs and afsigns forever free from the Claims of themselves & also persons whatsoever. In testimony of which the said Joseph H. Hendrick [interlined here - and the said James W. Hendrick personally also sets his hand and seal] by his attorney aforesaid hereunto sets his and seal / hereunto the day and date above written. Joseph H. Hendrick by His attorney in fact James W. Hendrick by William Arnold was on this day produced to me in my office and was duly acknowledged by Joseph H. Hendrick by James W. Hendrick his atty And James W. Hendrick for himself acknowledged the same to be his act deed torney in fact to be the act and deed of Joseph Hendrick / and the tax being this day paid I have recorded said deed with this certificate in my office as required by law. J H Rose By George Mitchell =========================== Know all men by these presents that I Joseph H Hendrick of the County of Edmondson and State of Kentucky have this Made, constitute and appointed and by these presents do make constitute and appoint James W Hendrick of the County of Warren and State aforesaid to be my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my name and for my sole use to collect any and all money and convey any land belonging to me by Mary E Taylor (late Hendrick of the estate of Willis Arnold and Elizabeth Arnold decd and also to institute and prosecute any and all suits in said claim for me and in my name in said estate and to perform in all and every matter pertaining to all matters in said estate hereby ratifying in my said attorney all power belonging to me or any wise pertaining to me from said estate to my said Attorney. In witnefs whereof the said Joseph H Hendrick hereunto set his name this 11th day of April 1863. His Joseph H X Hendrick Mark State of Kentucky Edmondson County set I Aron Lawson Clerk of the County Court aforesaid do certify that the foregoing Power of Attorney form Joseph H Hendrick to James W Hendrick was on the day of its date presented to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Joseph H Hendrick to be his act and deed whereupon the same is certified to the proper office for record.
