R. W. HENDRICK
Passes Away at Noon At His Home In This City.
Had Been Ill of Bright's Disease and His Death Not Unexpected.
Was One of Warren County's Best Known and Most Highly Respected Citizens.
The Funeral Is Tomorrow.
 
     Mr. Robert W. Hendrick, who has been so ill for the last few days died 
at 12 o'clock at his home on Fairview Avenue.  He had been in bad health for 
a long time of Bright's disease, but had been confined to his bed only about 
two weeks.  Since taking his bed his condition has been alarming and there 
was no hope of his recovery.

     Mr. Hendrick was born in Warren County, January 6, 1821 and had never 
lived anywhere else.  In May, 1857, he was married to Miss Mary E. Graham, 
and there are now surviving that union, besides his wife, five sons and two 
daughters as follows: Mrs. Annie Wilkes, Mrs. Sallie White, S.E., J.A., 
Forrest, H.L. and E. L. Hendrick.  He was one of the county's best known and 
most highly respected citizens.  He was at one time surveyor of the county 
and could have held the position as long as he wanted it, for he was always 
regarded as one of the very best surveyors in this entire section.

     He moved to Bowling Green in 1883 and has since that time been engaged 
in the manufacture of tobacco on an extensive scale.  He was a sagacious, 
level-headed businessman and had served as a member of the City Council, 
of which he was an honored member.

     Personally he was an affable and agreeable gentlemen and a man of the 
strictest integrity of character and had the unbounded respect and esteem 
of everybody.  He had been for a number of years an earnest and zealous 
member of the Christian church and died as he lived an upright honorable 
man and consecrated Christian.

     The funeral services will be conducted from the family residence of 
Fairview avenue at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and the interment will 
follow in Fairview Cemetery.
