Glasgow (KY) Daily Times, Monday, 10 Aug 1970.
"Mrs. Bertha Bellamy Shirley. Funeral services scheduled for Tuesday For. Route
4, Smiths Grove, died Saturday at 1:45 pm at City-County Hospital in Bowling
Green. She was 76. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Denton and Mrs.
Helen Depp, both of Bowling Green, Mrs. Patsy Young, Auburn; two sons, James
Elbert Shirley and Ernest Shirley, both of Smiths Grove; two brothers, Colonel
O. Bellamy and Jesse Bellamy, both of Smiths Grove; eight grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 at
Walnut Hill Baptist Church under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home. Burial
will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until
time for services."
