OBITUARY: PENNER, Elizabeth O. - Warren County, Kentucky Date: 29 August 2003 Submitted by Martha Lamkin, Email Registry ID# http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00005.html#0001235 NOTE: This obituary column, cut from newspapers of the time period, was found pasted in an ancient dust-covered book at a yard sale I attended in Louisville KY. I'm posting them verbatim in the hopes they will benefit others. I have no further information and have no connection to any of these names. I have no additional information on dates, or about which newspapers the original columns were in or the year of publication. Mrs. Elizabeth O. PENNER, aged 77 years, 2 months and six days passed away Wednesday evening at 9:23 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John S. CAMPBELL, of the Ray's Branch neighborhood. She suffered with Bright's disease. The deceased was born and reared in Warren County, and was the widow of Wm. Franklin PENNER, deceased many years. She had been a devout member of the Methodist church since 13 years of age, and was always active in church work and also in aiding the poor of the vicinity. Her desire for love and friendship was strong in her heart, and she believed that by dividing her joy with some one, she doubled their joy and came in touch with the divine. The memory of her sweet companionship can never die out of the hearts of the many friends who survive her. The deceased will be especially missed as president of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Ray's Branch Methodist Church. Surviving this good woman is one daughter, Mrs. John S. CAMPBELL, with whom she made her home. Funeral services will be held from the Ray's Branch M. E. Church on Friday morning at 11:30 o'clock. Rev. B. S. HARPER will officiate, with Rev. B. F. COPAS assisting. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. ------------------------------ USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
