Mrs. Susan Y. WEDDING in the the 62nd year of her age. She was born in Warren County, April 30, 1832, and was a daughter of Stephen and Lucy DAVISSON, old citizens for Fordsville community. Of a family of nine children, six survive her, four sons and two daughters. The sons are Wm., Tho's S. and Chas. W., of the Wedding Bros. firm of this place, and Walter living on his mother's farm. Her daughters are Mrs. Sarah P. MILLER, wife of Eddie MILLER, of Highland Park, near Louisville, and Mrs. Lucy E. MILLER, wife of Ben F. MILLER, of Henderson, Ky. Mrs. WEDDING has been a member of the the Baptist church for forty-six years and at the time of her death, her membership was with the church she first joined, now moved to Fordsville. On the morning of the 25th her funeral sermon was preached at her home by her pastor, Rev. B.F. JENKINS, from the text, "Her children arise up and call her blessed," Prov. 31 Chapt. 28 Verse. After sevice by her pastor and church choir, her remains were taken to the family burying ground on the farm and laid by the side of her husband, who proceeded her Nov. 5, 1881. For many years, Mrs. WEDDING has been the main comforter and adviser of her lady neighbors and friends in the community which has been her home for over fifty years, and one of her neighbors remarked at the interment, that others than her children could call her blessed and since he death of her mother she has counselled with Sister WEDDING in all her sorrows and troubles until she had almost taken the place in her heart of her deceased mother.
