KY Will Book A p. 156 In the name of god amen, I THOMAS SIMPSON of Washington County in the Commonwealth of Kentucky being sick in body but of perfect and disposing mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. First I will myself to almighty god and body to be decently buried by my Executers hereafter mentioned and as for my worldly goods I dispose of them as follows Item. I give and bequest to my beloved wife SARY one third part of land I now live on and the rest of my land to be sold and she to have the forth part of all my money and the big Sorrel mare and one Sorrel mare five years old and four Cows and one Calf and one Negrow Woman CLOW and one negrow man named JIM her life life Time one third part of the beds and puter and pot mettle and after her death the Negro Woman is to goe to my Daughter JEAN SIMPSON and Negrow man JIM to my son JAMES SIMPSON the rest she may doe what she Please Except the land I give to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequest to my Daughter JEAN one negrow boy GEORGE and all CLOWS Children, one Sorrel horse, one gray mar two years old and four Cows and Calves, one third part of the bedds and the pewter and pot mettle after the fourth of the money is take ought she to have one half of the rest, and all the Increase of CLOW and her children to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequest to my son JAMES all the land I now live on after the death of my Wife, One negrow Woman JEAN and all her children, one Boy LEAVI / LEAVE and the ballance of my Money, the Brown horse, the Sorrel mar, and Coalt the Earling St--- Coalt, four Cows and Calves, the rest of the Horses and Cattle to be sold if they think Proper if they are sould the money to be divided as hereafter mentioned if JAMES thinks proper to keep the Stills he must pay his Sister Twenty pounds if not they must be sold the money divided between the two and one third part of the bedds and pewter and Pot mettle I have and his heirs forever. Item. I give and to my Brother JOHN SIMPSON one hundred acres of land on Ashes Creek being part of my preemption not sold for the land I now live on to him and his heirs forever. I do nominate and appoint my loving wife SARAY and my beloved son JAMES and my brother JOHN and WILLIAM EVINGS my Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing any will or Wills by me heretofore made giving under my hand and seal this Twenty Third day of November 1799.
