Blankenship III Copy of letter from same Silas Brummett to my sister Francis Loomis Letter dated December 1, 1954 Dear Francis It is indeed a surprise and pleasure to hear from you and to know they you are located not so far away and also to know that you have a nice family. We would welcome you just any time you have a change to visit us. We live just east of the city of Tulsa ... Now sugar I will try and give you all the information I can as to the relationship as I remember it - our Great Grandma was taken from the Cherokee Indians which was from Louisiana. Her name was I can't recall) and she married a man by the name of Dean and our grandma married a man by the name of Parnell. So that brings us up to our mothers on their side of the family. Now as to Grandpa Brummett his ancestors were Conn's and Littrells on account of the Civil War Grandpa never knew very much about his people. Now Grandma Brummett her maiden name was Palston her given name was Debbie Jane Palston Brummett, borned March the 14th 1859. I am sorry I don't have the date of his death, and I am also sorry I don't have any of the records sugar. You might get in touch with Aunt Ola Glover's oldest daughter Pearl which is somewhere near Jamestown Kentucky, she might have some information that might help you. Well this is about all I know as I can't tell... Well Francis here is an addition to the list that have been thinking about. Perhaps you could gain some help from some of them. Uncle Filmore and Dad which was Alvis were the 2 oldest of their family and then Aunt Bell Snow and Aunt Ola Glover and Aunt Liza Whittle and then Uncle Joe and John (twins) and Uncle Nealy and then Uncle Arndell and then Aunt Emma and so far as I know none of them are living. Now in the beginning of this family there were few records kept except in the family bible which we did have one but I have no idea where it could be. Now here is Aunt Sarilda and my mothers family's names. Grandma Parnell - her husband died before I was born - his name was Sampson so in rotation they are as follows: William Parnell, Sampson Parnell, Milt Parnell, and Melve Parnell and Aunty Hailie and Aunt Siss Parnell and Uncle Charlie, we alway called him Uncle Sun. and Aunt Sarilda and Artie which is my mother. Well Frances I believe this is as much information as I can call to mind at this time. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Bummett - Adair County Library Family Files copied verbatim. In calling to mind all the names of our loved ones brings back memories of the past I won't ever forget it renews the thoughts that once was so near and dear to us all and still is we can only cherish their memories and hope to meet them in a better world. I hope that is what you ask me to do for you. I don't think I have left out any of the important things. I am at a lost to give you the dates. The Conn's, the Paulsons, the Browns, and the Littrells that have all passed away leaving only memories. This is on our father's side of the house.
