He was born February , 1764, in Fauquier County, Virginia. While a resident of said place, he enlisted in August , 1780, and served six months as private in Captain Francis Triplett's and John Combs' Virginia companies and was in the battles of Rugley's Mills and Cowpens. He enlisted in August, 1781, in Captain Thomas Helms' Company, in Colonel Darke's Virginia regiment. He was at the seige of Yorktown and was discharged in May, 1782. He was allowed pension on his application executed September 24, 1832, while living in Wayne County, Kentucky. He died there November 28, 1858. He married October 27, 1791, Elizabeth(my note: her maiden name not given but it was Randall). She was allowed pension on her application executed November 2, 1860, while a resident of Wayne County, Kentucky, aged eighty-eight years.
