She was born in Livingston, Tennessee on December 6, 1919, the daughter of Porter And Clementine Brown Copes. She married Sherman Neal, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1992. She is survived by nine children-Arthur Neal of Muncie, Indiana, Everett Neal, Ray Neal, and Thomas Neal, all of Hillsboro, Ohio, Ed Neal of Loveland, Ohio, and Larry Neal of Lebanon, Ohio, Flora Hancock of Monticello, Kentucky, Jane Begley of Fayetteville, Ohio and Linda Ditterline of Hillsboro, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and one sister Ruby Flowers of Byrdstown, Tennessee. Preceding her in death are 2 sisters-Mildred Cook and Ethel Cage; and 2 brothers Carols Copes and Opal Manes Willoughby. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Southside Church of God on South East Street in Hillsboro, Ohio with Pastor Wayne Flowers officiating. burial was in the Gilboa Cemetery at New Petersburg. Memorials may be made to the Southside Church of God Building Fund, 621 S. East Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
