Us/can Film Fhl 1943577 Written: March 9, 1836 Recorded: July 24, 1840 In the name of God Amen, I Aaron Turpin of the County of Wayne and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory for the purpose of protecting my wife and children avoiding difficulties to her in case of my decease, I do make and declare this as and for my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former last wills and testaments by me made and first I commit my soul to my God who created it and my body to the earth and as to all my worldly estate real, personal and mixed. I give, devise, and bequeath the same. I will any land that I live on to my wife Jane, her lifetime with as much of the household property as she thinks fit to keep. I then will and bequeath all the balance of my moveable estate, I will all to my heirs to be equally divided amongst the heirs at the widow's death. I do will and bequeath at the widow's death to George W. Wiley the land and premises that I now live on it being in Wayne County state of KY by his paying five hundred Dollars to the rest of the heirs as follows, the said George W. Wiley is to pay seventy dollars a year until the whole is paid up then for the heirs and Executors to make a general Warranty Deed to said Wiley. The net of my will of two hundred acres of land in Pulaski County and State of KY for Solomon Turpin to make sale of & divide out equally amongst seven of the heirs; Solomon Turpin, Jonathan, Aaron, William F. Turpin, Jonathon Moore, George Templeton, Reuben Sullens. I do appoint Isaac Bond and George W. Wiley my executors. The Will of Aaron Turpin of the County of Wayne and State of KY made and declared by his heirs on the 9th day of March 1836 in the presence of us who have here unto subscribed our names as witness. Aud State of KY Wayne County Court set I William Simpson Clerk of the County Court of County aforesaid do certify that the foregoing last will and testament of Aaron Turpin dec'd (which appears from the record of the Wayne County Court to have been proven at the May court 1836 in open court by the oath of John J. Bond & Charles C. Aud subscribing as witnesses thereto), has been duly recorded in my office agreeably to an order of said county court made pursuant to an act to authorize certain records of the Wayne County court to be transcribed. Given under my hand this 24th of June 1840. William Simpson Clerk Additional Comments: George Templeton listed in the will was the son-in-law of Aaron and wife of Margaret Peggy Turpin, my direct ancestors. They were married 20 Dec 1807 in Wayne, KY. Aaron's widow listed in the will was Jane Fleming, previously married to Ozias Barnes. Aaron and Jane were married 8 Jun 1786 in Rockingham, Linville Creek, VA. Jane was the daughter of William Fleming and Susannah Davis.
