BURTON BIBLE RECORD
from the Randa (JONES) McCULLEY Bible

NOTE: The information from the Randa (JONES) McCULLEY Bible was copied
as found, from the Bible, by Howard Ray ODOM of Henderson, KY in the
summer of 1997.  The address for Mrs. Paul McCulley is not currently
known.  Howard said to Cousin Gloria (ODOM) TROMMLER of Terre Hill, PA
[visiting in Henderson, KY in July 1997] that he had gone to Randa's
home, an elderly lady, with some unidentified photos that he was
hoping Randa might be able to indentify.  Apparently she couldn't
identify the photos, but said she had a Bible with sime information in
it that might interest him.  Howard looked through the Bible.  On a
piece of paper, that is now literally crumbling, due to age, Howard
found and copied the information on the paper, just as it was recorded.

This is from a Bible of Randa Jones McCully.  Her great grandma was
Theney BURTON, daughter of Larry Thomas BURTON & Martha Madison BURTON.
Larry BURTON was a Cherokee Indian.  His wife Martha MADISON & her
mother was a CARY when she came to US & settle in N.C. & married a man
name MADISON - Martha born in N.C.

Larry BURTON married Martha MADISON & move to KY.  He build a wagon
with a storage for lumber to build furniture with when he got to KY,
under wagon floor.  But had to use most all of it to build caskets for
the ones that died on way.  They had 13 kids.

		Born: April 17, 1819, place N.C.
		Married: 1840, place N.C.
		Died: April 17, 1871
		Place of burial: Silent Run Cemetery, [Hopkins Co.], KY
                        - this cemetery between Providence and Dawson
                        Springs, KY

	Martha (MADISON) BURTON
		Born: Jan. 13, 1823; place N.C.
		Died: Aug. 9, 1875
		Place of burial: Silent Run Cemetery, [Hopkins Co.], KY
                        - on monument at Silent Run Cemetery has a
                        F. C. Mason Emblem [according to descendant James
                        Edward ODOM, this is Fellow Craft Mason Emblem]
