Walker deeds from Webster County Kentucky Contributed by Harriet A. Odom This indenture made and entered into this the 4th day of February 1871 in and between James A. WALKER of the first part and Samuel P. Majors of the second part both of the County of Webster State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid. The receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. Hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell, and convey unto the party of the second part my intire (sic) undivided land lying and being in the County of Webster State of Ky upon the waters of Grove Creek known as the land the party of the first part inherited from his Father, Ruben Walker, Dcd. and where his mother now lives, containing in survey 160 acres undivided. To have and to hold the said interest of land with all the appurtenances belonging or in any wise appurtaining thereto. The said Majors, his heirs or assigns forever and the said Walker hereby covenant with the said Majors the title to said land is free clear and unincumbered and that he will and his heirs shall for ever warrant and defend the same against the claims of all and every person whomsoever. Orr, clerk of the Webster County Court, do certify that this deed from James A. Walker and Mary D. Walker, his wife, to Samuel P. Majors was this day produced to me in my county by the said James A. Orr, clerk DEED Reuben Walker and Robert S. Walker to Isaiah Eakins This indenture made and entered into this the 8th day of October 1877 in and between Reuben Walker of the County of Webster and Robert S. Walker of the County of Henderson State of Kentucky party of the first part and Isaiah Eakins of the County of Webster State of Kentucky witnesseth: That the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars paid as follows: four hundred dollars in hand paid to the said Reuben Walker and the remainder to be paid on third next March and the remainder in two equal yearly payments to the said Robert Walker. The receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. Hath this day bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain, sell and convey unto the said Eakins our interest in the land owned by our Father, Reuben Walker, at his death also the interest of William Walker bought by Reuben Walker and deeded from said William Walker on the 10th day of April 1867. Known as the land lying and being in the County of Webster, State of Kentucky upon the waters of Grove Creek and is the land our mother now lives on. To have and to hold the said three interests above described with all the appurtenances belonging or in any wise appertaining these unto the said Eakins, his heirs or assigns forever with Covenant of General Warranty. Smith, clerk of the Henderson County Court do certify that this deed from R. S. Walker and M. H. Walker, his wife, and Reuben Walker was this day produced to me in my county and duly acknowledged by the said (next page) DEED William Walker to Reuben Walker 1867 This indenture made and entered this the 20th day of April 1867 between William Walker of the County of Webster, State of KY of the first part and Reuben Walker of the County and State above written of the second part. Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and forty dollars in hand paid. The receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. Hath granted, bargained, and sold and by then presents doth grant, bargain, and sell and convey unto the party of the second part all of my entire interest and claim and title in the land & estate owned by our father Ruben Walker, now known as the place Elizabeth Walker, our mother, now lives on. To have and to hold the said interest to the said land estate with all the appurtenances belonging or in any wise appertaining thereto unto the Ruben Walker, his heirs and assigns forever. That he will and his heirs shall warrant and forever defend the same against the claim, claims of all and every prson whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said William Walker and Isabeliah Walker, his wife, hath hereunto set their hands the date above written. Orr, clerk of the Webster County Court do certify that this deed from William Walker and Isabeliah Walker, his wife, to Ruben Walker was this day produced to me in my county and acknowledged in due foram of law by the said Wm Walker and Isabeliah Walker his wife, to be their act and deed. Orr, clerk of the Webster County Court do certify that the foregoing deed from William Walker and wife to Reuben Walker was this day lodged in my office for record with the certificate of W.E.
