White Scholarship Established The family of the late Dr. D.T. White of Blackford has established a $2,000 scholarship in his memory that bears his name. This is a contribution to the Kentucky State Medical Association's "Country Doctor" fund in their drive to raise $100,000 to be loaned to deserving medical students at the University of Louisville to help alleviate the shortage of doctors in Kentucky. Dr. White was graduated from the Kentucky School of Medicine, which later became the University of Louisville, in 1885 and was an eminently successful country doctor in Webster County for 54 years. His success as a country doctor should be an inspiration to the young men and women who are granted this scholarship from time to time. Dr. White was always interested in education and helping young people get established and made many loans to them for educational purposes. In establishing this scholarship, the family feels that they are merely continuing a practice established by him.
