Arnett, born November 22, 1916 in Magoffin County, the son of the late Jolly Arnett and Molly Patton Arnett passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at his home in Williamsburg. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg, where he served as Deacon, Superintendent of Sunday School and President of the Men's Bible Class, he also served on two pulpit selection committees. Mr. Arnett was a member of the Rotary Club, Epsilon Sigma Phi, honorary Kentucky Extension Employee's fraternity and a Mason. Mr. Arnett is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Ruth Stanfield Arnett, who served as Cataloging Librarian at Cumberland College; two children, Barry (Virginia Sharpe) Arnett of Rockholds and Vickie (Bill) Hollen of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Manuel Brian Arnett of Lexington, Kelly Lynn Arnett of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Heather Arnett of Cleveland, Ohio, Laura Lee Moses of Lexington, Joann Hollen of Louisville, and Steven Moses of Williamsburg; two great-grandchildren, Eva Luckey and Virginia Grace Arnett, both of Lexington; one brother, Harold Arnett of Salyersville; 3 sisters-in-law, Maxine Arnett, Jean Arnett and Kay Arnett, all of Salyersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 18 at the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg with Dr. Harold Mauney and Rev. Robert Dunston officiating. Burial followed in the Highland Cemetery with the Williamsburg Lodge #490 F.&A.M. conferring graveside rites. Mr. Arnett was taken to the Highland Cemetery by the Croley Funeral Home horse-drawn carriage. Pallbearers were Andy Schwartz, Brian Arnett, Steven Moses, Eric Dimitrov, David Watkins, Larry Arnett, Gary Arnett and David Moses. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Stanford, Wallace Halcomb, Grant Hamblin, Frank Woolum, Ed Croley, Henry Pope, Ernest Triplett, Corky Jefferies, Deacons and the Men's Bible Class of First Baptist Church and Wilderness Trail Area Extension Agents.
