OBITS: COMBS, Patsy Carolyn Mills - 5 Jan 2001 - Whitley Co, KY Date: Sat, 13 Jan 2001 19:01:39 EST Submitted by: Neal Byrge From The Barbourville Mountain Advocate 11 Jan 2001 PATSY CAROLYN MILLS COMBS, 54, of Corbin and formerly of Knox County, was born on May 4, 1946 to the late Dewey Tuttle and Lola Mae Asher Tuttle. Mrs. Combs died at her residence, Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. She was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Combs was a former orthodontist assistant for Drs. Smith, Petrey and Chumbley in Corbin. On March 30, 1962, she united in marriage with Whitley Mills and to this Union two daughters, Teresa Lynn and Linda Kaye were born. Later on Oct. 28, 1978, she united in marriage with Ted Combs. Mrs. Combs is survived by her husband, Ted of Corbin; her daughters Teresa Lynn Mills Hammons, wife of Skip Hammons of Barbourville and Linda Kaye Mills Bright, wife of Jerry Bright of Bimble; her grandson William Jeffrey Hammons; her sisters Delsie I. McDonald and husband James A. of Indian Springs, Ohio, Sarah F. Warf and husband David of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; her brother Hayes Tuttle of Turkey Creek; her mother-in-law Beatrice Proffit Combs of London and her former father-in-law the Rev. Lester Mills of Bimble; Mrs. Combs also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by a nephew Jeffrey Allen McDonald. Funeral services for Patsy Carolyn Tuttle Mills Combs were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Barnard and the Rev. Michael Helton officiating. Interment followed in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily. Pallbearers were Tony Tuttle, Greg Kewin, Jeff kewin, Robbie McFadden, Brent Hubbard and Paul Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors of the combs family.
