Nancy Buchanan Farris, 101, Corbin, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2000 in
the Christian Health Center. She was born June 2, 1899 in Wise County, 
Virginia to the late John and Nancy Buchanan. She was the wife of the late 
Roy McKinley Farris, and a longtime member of the Corbin First United 
Methodist Church. Survivors include five children, Charles L. Farris of 
Lexington, William E. "Bill" Farris of Corbin, Mary Louise Howell of 
Montgomery, Alabama, Ruth Philpot of Owensboro, and Dan Farris of Gray, 
Tennessee; also ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral 
services were held Saturday, November 4 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 
with Rev. Timothy L. Thompson and Bro. Marion Parkey officiating. Interment 
was in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be given to the building fund of First United 
Methodist Church. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
