He attended Meadow Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris Hunter Helton of Rockholds; three daughters, Flora Mae Bowling and husband, Danny of Bethel, Ohio, Sharon Silcox and husband, Johnny of Jellico, Tennessee, and Karin Rhinehart and husband, Barney of Monticello; one son, Josh Perry and wife, Alice of Williamsburg; 15 grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Raymond Helton of Williamsburg, Norman Helton of Rockholds, Ralph Helton of Corbin, Ray Helton of Rockholds, and Paul Helton of Rockholds; three sisters, Wilma Terrell of Meadow Creek Road, Williamsburg, Sue Hunter of Williamsburg, and Faye Allen of Woodbine; six step-children, Donald Helton and wife, Loraine of Rockholds, Charles Helton and wife, Linda of Wofford, Gillis Helton and wife, Cheryl of Wofford, Franklin Helton and wife, Flora Mae of Williamsburg, Jimmy Helton and wife, Melissa of Rockholds and Doris Ann Rhodes and husband, Jim of Rockholds; his step-mother, Hallie Helton of Woodbine; five step-brothers, Clifford Miller of Rockholds, J.P. Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lewis Miller of Rockholds, Jack Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bill Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio; also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Helton and Maude Pfaff Helton; and a son, Lawrence David Helton. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 18 at the Meadow Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Phipps and Rev. Rufus Kersey, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Bryants Cemetery on Jacksfork. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Meadow Creek Baptist Church. Graveside honors were provided by the Whitley County R.O.T.C.
