Duane Hart, (Pa Hart), 58, Corbin, passed away at the UK Medical Center in Lexington on Thursday, September 14, 2000. He was a member of the Seventeenth Street Christian Church; the Corbin Lions Club; vice president on the Eastern Kentucky University Tri-County Board; former Board of Education for Corbin Independent Schools; former Board of Regents at Morehead State University, former guidance counselor at Corbin High School and shipping and receiving manager at American Greetings in Corbin. Duane was a 1960 graduate of Corbin High School and 1965 graduate of Morehead State University. He played football in high school and college. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hart of Corbin; daughter, Toni Carloftis, and husband Dusty of Corbin; son, Christopher Duane Hart, and wife Susie of Corbin; stepdaughter, Angela Cooper, and husband Jay of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Hannah Jo and Byron Duane Hart of Corbin; Emma Kate and Ellie Jane Carloftis of Corbin; a sister, Geneva Brewer of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Lee and Lena (Worley) Hart; sister, Alvena McClure of Elizabethtown, Tennessee; brothers, Hershel Hart, of Logansport, Indiana, Hasley "Big Boy" Hart of Titusville, Florida, Rondal Hart of Morehead, and Homer Hart of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Funeral services will be Monday, September 18 at 2 p.m. at Seventeenth Street Christian Church in Corbin. Rev. Byron Black, Rev. Johnny Jervis and Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton will officiate. Burial was in the Hart Cemetery in South Corbin. Pallbearers were D.L. Lynch, Dusty Carloftis, David Pennington, Ozene McKeehan, Jay Cooper, and Brad Hart. Honorary pallbearers was the Corbin Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Seventeenth Street Christian Church, 200 17th Street, Corbin, KY 40701.
