She was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Grant Lay of Old Shiner School Road, Williamsburg; four daughters, Florine Cathers of Corbin, Retha Orrick of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Arline Pfaff of Louisville, and Donna Jones of Williamsburg; one son, Ralph Lay of Winchester, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Lay of Williamsburg; as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alene; a son, Ernie; and her parents, John and Cindy Taylor. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial was in the Ryans Cemetery.
