Versa Reece Goodin Mitchell, 93, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2000 in
Victorville, California. She was the mother of James E. Goodin of 
Victorville and sister of Stella Reece Watkins of Keavy. She had spent the 
last eight years with her son and daughter-in-law, Ginny. She was born 
February 15, 1907 in Laurel County to the late Cora and Philmore Reece.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, as well
as her husbands, David Goodin and Clarence Mitchell. She spent most of her
life as a school teacher in Kentucky and Hamilton, Ohio. She leaves a host 
of relatives and friends, including the following nieces and nephews, 
Carolyn Cribb and husband, Ray of Hilliard, Florida, Marilyn Colwell and 
husband, William of London, Earlene Arnold and husband, Russ of Keavy, 
Alton Taylor and wife, Irma of Covington, Garland Reece and wife, Nelda, 
Winston Reece, and Don Reece of Corbin. Funeral services were held Monday 
evening, October 23 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marion 
Parkey and Bro. Dave Maltzan officiating. Interment was in the Locust Grove 
Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Sunday School Class of West 
Corbin Christian Church where she taught before moving to California.
