Ash Pike, Williamsburg, passed away Saturday evening, November 4, 2000 at the Williamsburg Nursing Home. She was a member of the Mt. Ash Church of God for many years. She is survived by her husband, James Murray of Old Mt. Ash Pike, Williamsburg; three daughters, Barbara Jones and husband, Don of Williamsburg, Marlene Murray of Williamsburg, and Linda Richardson and husband, David of Williamsburg; six sons, Eugene Murray and wife, Rainey of Williamsburg, Gary Murray and wife, Sue of Williamsburg, Robert Murray and Yvonne Wender of Williamsburg, Steve Murray of Williamsburg, Edward Murray and Robin Mahan of Williamsburg, and Dave Murray of Williamsburg; 12 grandchildren and six great grand- children; five brothers, Ralph Cox of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jimmy Cox of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rev. Ulys Cox of Williamsburg, Jessie Brown of Alabama, and John Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee; also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Rutha Gibson Cox; two sisters, Mildred Beams and Betty Moses; and two brothers, Earl Cox and Billy Cox. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 7 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ulys Cox officiating. Burial was in the Reed Cemetery.
