Rev. Luther B. Martin of Corbin passed away Friday, September 29, 2000 in
Louisville. He was born November 8, 1921 in Corbin to the late Henry and Lou
Martin. He pastored churches in Louisville, Faber Baptist and Northside
Baptist where he was a member. Survivors include two sons, Michael Martin 
and wife, Brenda of Grand Cayman Island, and Clayton Martin and wife, Brenda 
of Louisville; two grandsons, Ray and Clay Martin and one great-grandson, 
Andrew of Jackson, Mississippi; step-daughter, Shelby Rutledge; step-son, 
David Mullins; step-granddaughter, Holly Arnold; step-grandsons, Gary and 
Heath Ritch, Amy and Amanda Rutledge. He is also survived by brothers and a 
sister, Hobert Martin, Norma Pennington, Henry "Buddy˛ Martin; a 
sister-in-law, Jewell Martin; and a special friend, Jane Wilkerson.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Walker and Gladys Forte; one 
brother, Robert Martin. Funeral services were held Monday, October 2 at the 
O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Davis officiating. Interment 
followed in the McFarland Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary 
pallbearers were local ministers. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of 
arrangements.
