Charles Nelson, Jr., 73, Corbin, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2000
at his home. He was born July 22, 1927 at Keavy to the late Charlie and Lillie 
Sue Grubb Nelson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later
became a teacher in Laurel County. He was a member of the Shiner Church of
Christ. Survivors include his wife, Nell Baxter Nelson; two daughters, Cathy
Jody and husband, Gary, and Jennifer Nelson of Corbin; a sister, Beatrice
Pepper of Athens, Alabama; and two aunts, Lucille Grubb of Athens and Julia
Grubb of Corbin. Funeral services were held Friday, September 29 at the O'Neil 
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ernie Gill and Bro. Don Stidham officiating.
On Saturday, interment was in the Locust Grove Cemetery with Bro. John
Gill officiating. Brothers-in-law were named as honorary pallbearers. O'Neil 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
