Prueitt, 103, Corbin, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at 7:30 a.m. Born September 8, 1899 in McWhorter, Laurel County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Dr. Daniel B. Young and Lucinda Hoskins Young, who preceded her in death. In the mid-1920s, Mollie moved to Hamilton, Ohio, where she met and later married William "Connie" Prueitt. Mollie worked at McCrory's Dime Store in Hamilton for many years. In 1946, Mollie and Connie relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where Connie was offered a position as master carpenter. While living in Phoenix, Mollie was active in her church and was on the board of trustees. She took pride in her home and enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers. In 1989, Mollie moved to London, and later resided in Corbin. Mollie will be most remembered for her quick wit and charming sense of humor. She was a humble, kind, and loving person who enjoyed life and being around people. She is survived by two sisters, Daisy Baker of Corbin and Amanda Feltner of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; a devoted niece, Connie Lou McDaniel; and a large number of nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Connie; son, William Connie "Billy" Prueitt; eight brothers, Stanley, Frank, Henry, Don, Allen, and Pleas Young; and two sisters, Kitty Asher and Mattie Nantz. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 18 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Epperson officiating. Burial was in the Creech Cemetery in McWhorter.
