Robertson, 75, Gordon Hill Pike, Corbin, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2000 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center. He was born December 30, 1924 at Corbin to the late John and Nancy Vanderpool Robertson. A brother, Jimmy Robertson, and a sister, Faye Robertson Dooley, also preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was retired from CSX Transportation as a railroad brakeman, and belonged to West Corbin Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Billie Earls Robertson; a son, Edward Dale Robertson and wife, Charlotte of Shelbyville; a daughter, Diane Robertson Jones and husband, Rick of Georgetown; four grandsons, Cable and Andy Robertson of Shelbyville and Jason McDaniel and Rick Jones of Corbin; a sister, Eula Mae Robertson Masters of Corbin; four sisters-in-law, Maxine Earls Taylor of Cincinnati, Jan Rose Earls Deters of Ft. Wright, Alene Earls Smith of Corbin, and Vola Robertson of San Diego, California; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl McCray and Bro. Butch Ringwald officiating. Burial was in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to West Corbin Christian Church. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
