He had operated a barber shop for many years in Jellico where he was also a member of the Jellico Lodge #527 F&AM. A World War I veteran, he was also a choir leader at the Saxton Missionary Baptist Church for some 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emily Siler. Other survivors include a daughter, Frances Alley of Jellico; and a grandson. Funeral services were held Oct. 20 at the Saxton Missionary Baptist Church, with Eugene Siler, Jr., the Rev. James Lawson and the Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Pleasant View by Llewellyn Funeral Home.
