He was a member of the Rockhold Baptist Church. A veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, he was a Scofield Barrack during bombing of Pearl Harbor. He is survived by his wife, Betty Katherine Shellely Woods of Williamsburg; four daughters, Judy Ellen Buroker of Sweetser, Indiana, Debera Kay Harmon of Knoxville, Tennessee, Connie Jean Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio and Susan Joyce Beck of Speedwell, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Deloris Parker of Rockholds, Muriel Ferguson of Hartfort City, Indiana, Kathleen Fuller of Albany, Ky., and Mary Emma Shiflet of Rushville, Indiana; one brother, John Tom Woods of Kokomo, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Juda Matlock Woods; and a brother, Noah William Woods. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Tye and Rev. Eugene Harmon officiating. Burial was in the Highland Park Cemetery, Croley Addition. Pallbearers were Dale Beck, Dennis Beck, Dan Beck, Steve Beroker, Alan Parker, Keith Woods, and Brad Lemons. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
