Hollon and Sarah Hollon his wife of the County of Wolfe and State of Ky. parties of the first part and James Tyler of same county and State & parties of the Second part witnesseth that said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety-seven dollars and fifty Cents, forty Seven dollars and fifty cents in hand paid and fifty dollars secured by note of this date do hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part his heirs and assigns the following property to wit: A tract of land lying on the Waters of upper Devil's Creek in Said County and State and bounded as follows to wit- Begining on the top of the ridge on a Black gum tree the S.W. corner of the Childers line thence S. with the top of the ridge to a chestnut tree Standing on the ridge thence E. to the top of the ridge to the hickories then N. with the meanders of the ridge to a Chestnut oak thence with the Childers line to the Begining To have and to hold the same together with all the appurtenaces thereon to the parties of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever And the said parties of the first part hereby covenants with the party of the second part that they will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyed unto said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever and a lien is hereby retained on said land for unpaid purchase money In testimony whereof we have hereunto Subscribed our names the day and year aforesaid Attest A.J. Hollon and Sarah Hollon his wife to James Tyler, was on the 7th day of March 1877, produced to me in said Court and acknowledged before me by A.J. Hollon and Sarah Hollon parties grantors thereto, to be their act and deed, and ledged for record Whereupon the same together with this certificate has been duly admitted to record in Deed Book No. 3 in my office Given under my official hand, this 2 day of Oct., 1877 Attest S. Hollon and wife to James Tyler was on the 9th day of April 1887, ledged in my office for record, Whereupon the same together with the foregoing Certificate and this my certificate have been admitted to record in my office Given under my hand this 9th day of April 1887 David Hogg Clerk ---------------- Compiler's note: Andrew Jackson Hollon and wife Sarah/Sally Wright Hollon were killed ca. 1877-1878, having gone briefly to Texas. They were en route back to Wolfe County, KY, in the area of Boston Mtn. Arkansas, when killed by highwaymen. They sold a lot of Wolfe County land before departing.
