Rogers died of paralysis at 12 o'clock Saturday night at his home in Clifton. He was stricken with paralysis nearly two years ago and had been confined to his home ever since and part of the time to his bed. Dr. Rodgers was born in Bourbon County. He was in the 73d year of his age and had been practicing medicine for over fifty years. He has been at Clifton for about twenty-eight years. He was a self sacrificing and assiduous in the practice of his profession and imperiled, if he did not sacrifice, his life in ministering to the suffering. He was a kind and upright man and had been a professing Christian for a number of years. He was a member of the old school Baptist church Alton. Dr. Rodgers is survived by a wife, who has long been an invalid, two daughter and a son. Dr. G. H. Rout conducted funeral services over the remains of the deceased on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock."
