On Wednesday evening last, about sundown, L.E. Clark shot and killed Walter Allen at the store of Kahn & Smith; at Pisquemine Bruiee, in this parish. Clark is a young man not over twenty years of age. Allen was about 30 years of age and leaves a widow with one child. These young men had had some hot words on Friday before the killing, when friends interfered and prevented any violence, Allen saying to Clark as they separated that he would “fix him nest time they met.” The fatal evening above referred to was the next meeting between the parties, and when killed Allen had a pistol conveniently in the waist of his pants, which Clark states he attempted to draw before he (Clark) shot. – Rayne Signal. # # #
