Louis Richard rounded up several young out of town men Sunday and lodged them 
in jail, where they remained until 9 o’clock this morning, when they appeared 
before Mayor L. Barousse and were fined upon conviction on charges of 
disturbing the peace.

On several occasions, Chief Richard stated, these men came to town where they 
drank and otherwise disturbed the peace, but it was not until yesterday morning 
that he was able to capture them.

Five of the bunch were arrested Sunday morning and lodged in jail.  Two more 
came to town Sunday afternoon it is said, and stated that either their friends 
would be released or they too would be jailed.  Chief Richard took the path of 
least resistance and jailed them.

After searching the men, five Barlow knives and one Colt revolver were found in 
their possession.  It is said that another revolver is still missing, one of the 
men having thrown it away when he was arrested, it was stated. Charges will be 
filed in the district court against some of the me, Chief Richard said.

Three of the men were Melancons, three were Nolans and one was a Thibodeaux.
