All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Church Point News January 15, 1962 Page 2 Last Rites Held for 72 – Year Old Retired Farmer Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Jean Batiste Hanks, 72, of Lewisburgh, a retired farmer, who died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Lafayette Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Burial was in the St. John Berchman Church cemetery in Cankton. Survivors include his wife the former, Emma Venable of Lewisburgh, one daughter, Mrs. Verdie Babineaux of Church Point; four brothers, Joe and Cyril of Church Point; Mitchell of Lafayette and Delino of Rayne; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Hanks of Duson, Mrs. Marie H. Broussard of Cankton and Mrs. Antonia Hanks of Lafayette; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Guidry funeral home was in charge of arrangements
