All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Church Point News November 5, 1963 Front Page Funeral Services Held for Former Local Resident Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Polus Doucet, aged 87, a retired farmer, who died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Dupre Sanitarium in Ville Platte after an illness of two weeks. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Guidry’s Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Stanley of Church Point and Andrew of Lake Charles; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Arabie of Church Point, Mrs. Eulice Blanchard of Eunice, Mrs. Sidney Landry of Kaplan and Mrs. Joseph A. Lavergne of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Laurent Doucet of Church Point and Julian Doucet of Crowley; one sister, Mrs. Onezime Matte of Church Point, 40 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
