Lola A. Duson died at the residence of her uncle, W. W. Duson, in Crowiey 
(sic), on Friday, October 11, 1907, aged twenty-four years, two months and 
one day.

The death of this beautiful and beloved girl comes with crashing sadness 
upon a home already made desolate by death. It has been but a few weeks ago, 
when Mr. Duson lost his beloved wife, Eunice Pharr, and now comes the taking 
off of his youngest daughter and home companion.

Lola Duson was born in Opelousas, but from early childhood had lived in 
Crowley. She was the daughter of C. C. Duson and Isora A. Andrus, and a 
sister of Mrs. Lorenzo H. Mornhinveg, of Opelousas; and Dr. W. W., Rodney 
R., George, C. C. Jr., and Herbert Duson, of Crowley.

"Stricken with illness just as the bright promise of beautiful girlhood had 
ripened into gracious womanhood," says the Crowley Signal, "her last days 
were spent in tender ministration to her loved ones who had been stricken 
with grief and death. For months she had faced the inevitable with clear 
eyes and the unfaltering courage that came to her by inheritance."

"Her life," said a school mate of the dead girl, "was pure as the life of an 
unsullied flower, but her soul was like an oak. She was entirely resigned 
and long since had said to those who mourn for her "Thy will, not mine, be 
done."

Her sister, Mrs. Lorenzo H. Mornhinveg, of Opelousas, had been at the 
bedside of her sister for some weeks, weeks, waiting with fortitude unbuoyed 
by hope for the final dissolution to come.

The Clarion extends its heartfelt sympathy to the grief stricken family.
