(Abbeville, La.) 1856-1906, August 11, 1900, Image 3 Killed By Lightning. - Adam Istre, whose home is near Estherwood, was struck by lightnnig (sic) last Satruday (sic), a short distance south of that place, and instantly killed. He was on horseback, crossing a stream, on his way home from Estherwood. Several persons saw the affair, and Istre fell from his horse into the water. His body was recovered, after a search, and it was found that his whole right side was charred. The remains were taken to Estherwood, where they were interred last Sunday. Istre leaves a wife and several small children. - Crowley Mirror.
