Israel Matte Last Rites Held In Church Point

Funeral  services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of 
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Israel Matte, 
aged 70, who died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday in the Opelousas General Hospital.

Mr. Matte, aged 70, was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his widow, the former Felicia Doucet, Church Point; one son, 
Wallace Matte, Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Cecile Prudomme, Lafayette; three 
brothers, Eugene J. Matte, and Onezime Matte, both of Church Point; and 
Valentine Matte, Welsh; and two sisters, Mrs. Vorice Mier, Whiteville and 
Mrs. Elma Matte, Church Point and four grandchildren.
