Page 1.  Marriage Bond

State of Louisiana
Parish of Acadia

        Know all men by these presents, that we Wm Cormier as principal
        and Dosite Doucet as security, are held and firmly bound unto 
        the Governor of the State of Louisiana, in the sum of Three Hundred
        Dollars, for the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs,
        executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, by these 
        presents.  Dated at CROWLEY, this 11th day of November 1897
        WHEREAS, a license has this day been issued by the Clerk of the
        District Court in and for the parish of Acadia, to unite in the
        bonds of matrimony, the above bond Wm Cormier and Josephine Doucet.
        Now, therefore, the conditions of the above obligation is such, 
        that if there should exist no legal impediment to this alliance,
        then the above obligation to be null and void;  else to remain 
        in full force and virtue.

To Any Minister of the Gospel or Justice of the Peace of the Parish of
         Acadia--Greeting:
         You are hereby authorized and empowered to unite in the bonds
         of matrimony, according to law and established rules,
         Mr. William Cormier
         and Miss Josephine Doucet  both of Acadia Parish
         And when you shall have done so, that you make duplicate acts
         of the celebration thereof, signed by yourself and three witnesses,
         as required by law, one of which acts shall be returned within 
         thirty days to the office of the Clerk of Court in and for the
         parish of Acadia, together with this license.
         Given under my hand and seal of office, as Deputy Clerk of Court,
         in and for the Parish of Acadia, the 11th day of November 1897.
