Oden, Sherif and Ex-officio Tax Collector of the Parish of Allen by virtue of the power in me vested by law, and in accordance with Act.No. 170 of the Legislature of 1898, approved July 14, 1898, entitled "An act to provide an annua for the State of Louisiana, by levying by annual taxes upon property not exemptedly by the constitution from taxation and prescribing the method of asessing and collecting same, and enforcing payment thereof," and as amended by Acts Nos. 130 and 135, 1902 approved July 8, 1902, and Act No. 63, 1904, approved June 29, 1904; and all existing law on the subject. The Tax Rols for the State, Parish and Special Taxes for the year 1923 having been deposited in my office for the collection of said taxes, and having after the second day of January, 1924 and after the expiration of twenty days, counting from the day when the last notice was Registered, I did advertise and make the necessary publications and advertisements, to-wit: In the official journal of Allen Parish, being the Oakdale American newspaper published in the English language in the town of Oakdale Parish and State aforesaid and having a general circulation, said advertisement appearing in the issue of said paper of May16/June 22/24 the sale to commense on the 21 day of June 1924, and continue from day to day within legal sale hours; and having complied with all the formalities required by law, and after reading aloud the public advertisement containing a description of the property, I did expose at public auction for cash, without appraisement on the 23 day of June, 1924 between 11 o'clock a.m. and 4 o'clock p.m. of said day, in front of the Court House door of said Parish and State, the following imovable property, situated in Allen Parish, Louisiana, to-wit: SW of SW 21-2-3 And at the time and place above designated, no particuar portion of said property having been pointed out by the tax debtor, and having offered the least portion and having received 1 bid for a portion thereof sufficient to pay the taxes, interest and the cost due thereon, to-wit: South half of SW of SW 21-2-3 I did proceed to offer the portion of said property for the State, Parish and Special Taxes, interest and costs due by Est of Polly Ann Buxton as owner thereof according to the assessment rolls for the year 1923, at which sale Percy C Smith residing in Oberlin La being the last and highest bidder; the said property was adjudicated to P C Smith for the sum of Thirteen and 19/100 Dollars which I acknowledge to have received in cash from the said purchaser, in full satisfaction of the following State, Parish and Special Taxes, interest and costs attached to said property, to-wit: State Tax ..... 1.42 Parish Tax.... 1.89 Kinder Acreage Tax ...-0- Kinder Drainage Tax .... -0- Road Tax Ward .... -0- Road Tax Dist. Oden, Sheriff and Ex-Officio Tax Collector, for and in the name of the State of Louisiana, do grant, bargain, sell, assign and set over upon the said P C Smith herein accepting and purchasing for himself, legal heirs and assigns___with the right of being placed in posession thereof, by order of court of competent jurisdiction, all of said property, to hold the same to the said Percy C. Smith legal heirs and assigns, forever, with the understanding and express stipulation that the owner of the property decribed herein shal have the right to redeem the same at any time for the space of one year beginning on the day when the said deed is filed for record, in the conveyance office in the parish in which the property is situated and if not redeemed, such record in the conveyance or mortage office shall operate as a cancellation of All and Judicial Mortages.
