Last Rites Held For Mr. Ballard
 
Funeral services for S.A. Ballard, 85, of Oakdale were held at 3 p.m.
Saturday at the Mt. Hope Baptist Church and burial was at the Cryer
Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.

Mr. Ballard died at his residence in Ballard Community at 8:50 p.m.
Friday following a short ailment. He was a life resident. 

His survivors include two sons: Murphy of Clarks and Timothy of
Oakdale; four daughters, Mrs. J.R. Maddox and Mrs. Lottie Soileau
both of Elizabeth, Mrs. John L. Bond and Miss Mary Ballard both of
Oakdale; a brother, W.T. Ballard of Oakdale; 28 gradchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
