Buxton, Mitchell February 12, 1962

 Elizabeth La - Mitchell Buxton of Elizabeth died in an Alexandria hospital Monday.
He was 68.   
 Funeral srvices were to be held at 2:30 pm today at the Oakhill Baptist Church with
Rev. B.G. Dyess officiating. Burial was to be held under the direction of Ardoin
Funeral Home of Oakdale.
 Survivors include one son, Vester Buxton of Pittsburgh, Pa; five daughters, Mrs.
Millard Perkins of Marshall, Texas, Mrs. Delbert Castolina of Silsby, Texas, Mrs.
Hardy Greer and Mrs. L.O. Smith, both of Oakdale, and Mrs. Robert Davis of Oberlin;
two brothers, Silas Buxton of Chatham and Monroe Buxton of Oakdale; a half-brother,
Tom Johnson of Alexandria; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Bonds of Glenmora; 17 grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren. 

Additional Comments:
Mitchell Buxton was proceeded in death by his wife, Katie Buxton 02-04-1962 and
their eldest son, Woodrow Buxton in 1951. Mitchell was the 7th son of a 7th son and
Mitchell and Katie had 7 children: Woodrow Buxton, Dolly Buxton Rice Castolina,
Pearl Buxton Perkins, Gladys Buxton Greer, Nathel Buxton Smith, Clematine Buxton
Davis and Vester S. Buxton. Their last name Buxton is also spelled Buckston.
