Josh Brown born March 1854 and died in 1928. He was a farmer who purchased 95 
acres of land in the 8th ward of Ascension Parish. There was a railroad track 
on his land. Josh is on the 1900 Census listed as a widow with his children.
Josh Brown children are listed as Willie, Suzzane, George, Issac, Estella, 
Carrie, Franklin, Idella, Thompson and Cornelius. Josh Brown was a leader in 
the Community of the 8th ward of Ascension Parish. Josh father was from 
Mississippi and mother is from Maryland.
